EXPLANATION OF MEETING
ROLES
TOASTMASTER OF THE EVENING (TMOE):
The main purpose of the Toastmaster role is to act as the meeting’s genial host, introducing participants, making sure everything
runs to time. The main responsibilities of the TMOE are: - To give an introduction which sets the tone for the meeting, - To explain
the structure of a typical meeting for the benefit of guests and new members, - To give short introductions for each of the main
speakers and their evaluators and link between the various meeting segments.

TABLE TOPICS MASTER (TTM):

TTM Prepares the Theme of the Meeting in advance. Picks attendees of the meeting who aren’t assigned a speaker or an evaluation
role or have another opportunity to speak during the meeting if possible. In cases of fewer attendance TTM can pick guests as well.
Table Topics Master challenges the club with a subject, and the selected speaker responds with a one to two minutes impromptu
talk.
GRAMMARIAN:
Before each Toastmasters meeting, the Grammarian selects a new vocabulary word (WOD: Word of the Day) and presents it to the
members who should try to use it during the meeting. The goal of this exercise is to teach Toastmasters new vocabulary that they
can use during everyday conversation. Besides, the Grammarian gives a brief report about some grammar mistakes caught during
the meeting and remarkable good uses of grammar of vocabulary.

VOTE COUNTER:
Vote Counter collects ballots and announces the results for Best Evaluator, Best Table Topics Speaker, and Best Speaker
respectively. Besides, the Vote Counter makes sure that the comments for speakers, TMOE and TTM reaches to the respective role
owner.
TIMER:
Uses a stopwatch to time the Speakers, Evaluators, and Table Topics Speakers, turning on lights at the appropriate times as shown
in the below table. At the request of the Toastmaster or General Evaluator, the Timer reports the prepared speakers, evaluators and
table topics speakers who have qualified by meeting the minimum and maximum time requirements (Prepared Speakers have a 30
second grace period after their maximum time to qualify. Evaluators and Table Topics Speakers have a 15 second grace period).
AH COUNTER:
Keeps track of how many filler words (such as "ah," "um," "er," and "you know") each person uses during the meeting and, at the
Toastmaster's request, gives a report.

LISTENER:
Listener keeps track of all the speeches carefully and prepares questions regarding all (or some) of the prepared as well as
impromptu speeches. In the General Evaluation Session Listener asks these questions to the audience and gives the audience the
opportunity to test themselves how good they listened to the speeches and could catch details.

GENERAL EVALUATOR:
Introduces evaluation team at the opening by giving word to each. At the closure of the meeting, he/she comes up with his/her report
regarding general conduct of the meeting. Then, he/she requests reports from the evaluation team and returns control to the
Toastmaster of the Evening.
