Session Title: Digestive System

Session Objectives:  Explain the function of the digestive system.


 Identify the cultural influences on dietary habits and their impact on digestive
health.
 Recognize the significance of respecting cultural diversity in promoting health and
well-being.
Key Concepts: The digestive system is essential for maintaining good health, and appreciating cultural
differences in dietary practices can enhance intercultural relationships and promote mutual
respect.

Have students think and share traditional foods from different
cultures that support a healthy digestive system.

 Ask students to think of traditional recipes known for


promoting good digestion from various cultural
backgrounds.
 Let the students present their work, highlighting the
ingredients and their digestive benefits.
 Connect cultural food choices to digestive health and well-
being, highlighting the importance of a balanced diet.
 Facilitate a discussion on how food can be a unifying factor
in promoting understanding and respect for different
cultures.
Activity: Independent Reading 10 minutes Points of Discussion: The teacher will distribute the reading material
Project: to the student and reflect on the short story about Digestive System.

Guide Question:
1.What did Lily learn about her body and its functions?
2.What motivated Lily to start taking care of her body?
3. What insights did Lily gain regarding the relationship between
food and the world around us?
4. How will understanding the function of the digestive system and
the foods we consume contribute to fostering understanding and
respect for other cultures?

Wrap Up: 10 minutes


Instruct the students to write a poem about digestive system and how
cultural food choices contributes to digestive health and a balanced
diet.
