1. What is a control system? Compare open loop and closed loop control systems. Draw the characteristics of a DC position control
system by conducting a suitable experiment on it.

2. Conduct an experiment for DC position control system and draw the error characteristics between set point and error.

3. Determine the transfer function of a servo motor, which is generally used in high power applications by controlling the excitation of
field windings by conducting a suitable experiment on it.

4. Determine the transfer function of the given A.C Servo Motor and experimentally determine the transfer function parameters

5. Write a MATLAB program to obtain the Bode plot for the given system

6. Write a MATLAB program to sketch the root locus of a unity feedback system with open loop transfer function G(s) = K / [s (s+2)
(s+4)] and verify the locus theoretically. Also determine the range of K for stability of the system.

7. Write a program and build the block diagram model using the given software to digitally simulate the time response characteristics of
first -order system given by G(S)=10/s+10.

8. Write a program and build the block diagram model using the given software to digitally simulate the time response characteristics of
second -order system given by G(S)=16/s2+4s+16

34
9. Consider the system with the open loop transfer function of 4/s(s+2).It is desired to design a lead compensator for a system with static
velocity error constant Kv of 20 sec.The phase margin is atleast 50 degree and gain margin is atleast 10dB.

10. Consider the system with open loop transfer function given by G(S)=1/s(s+1)(0.5s+1).It is desired to design a lag compensator with a
static velocity error constant of kv is 5 sec.The phase margin is atleast 40 degree and gain margin is atleast 10 dB.
