NATIONAL POLLUTION CONTROL DAY – 2nd December
To facilitate the exchange of knowledge and cultivate awareness regarding pollution control,
as well as to commemorate National Pollution Control Day, the Institution's Innovation
Council (IIC), Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, collaborated with the National
Service Scheme (NSS) unit, organized a meaningful event, wherein they actively engaged
with the public near Nantoor Junction. The primary focus of this initiative was to disseminate
information, raise awareness, and underscore the importance of pollution control measures
for the well-being of both the environment and the community.
Mr. Rakesh Mallya, an active member of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) and the
dedicated coordinator of the National Service Scheme (NSS), imparted valuable insights
regarding various forms of pollution and elucidated effective strategies for their mitigation.
Meanwhile, Mr. Prakash ST, faculty member in the Department of Automobile Engineering,
took charge of guiding the students regarding the schedule and agenda for the day's program,
ensuring clarity and understanding among the participants. Dr. Rajesh M, Department of
Aeronautical Engineering provided a comprehensive briefing on essential safety guidelines
imperative for fostering awareness among individuals navigating through traffic.
The program was conducted successfully with the support of Dr. Ramakrishna N Hegde, IIC
Convenor and beloved Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, for their unwavering support and
guidance, which contributed to the success of this event.
