The Neolithic Period and the Bronze and ASSISTANT

Iron Ages ACTIVITIES

Activity 23

Warm-up
 As a class, ask students: How many of the cultures that emerged on the Iberian
Peninsula in the Neolithic Period, the Copper Age, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age
can you name?
 Prepare some images related to the various cultures and ask students if they can
identify which culture they may be from, for example, a corridor dolmen, a Bell
Beaker vessel etc.

Activity
 Put students into pairs. Tell them to look at the map on page 76 and individually
choose a couple of regions on the Iberian Peninsula whose cultures they’re going to
describe to their partner. Draw their attention to the sentence stems in Activity 23
and set them a time limit to prepare their descriptions.
 Students take turns to describe their regions to their partner and guess which ones
their partner is describing.

Model answers
 See Student’s book page 76.

Extension
 Put students into small groups, allocate each one a culture from one of these periods
and ask them to prepare a fact file about it with images.
 Display the fact files around the classroom or post them in a shared folder.
