AMBERFIELD COLLEGE MEMORANDUM 20240123

TO: GRADE 4-11 PARENTS

FROM: EXECUTIVE PRINCIPAL
SUBJECT: LOCKER RENTALS
DATE: JANUARY 23, 2024

Dear Parent/Guardian
Lockers can be booked out directly by Amberfield College.
There are 2 types of lockers available to rent:
Regular lockers: R 1 100 for the year
Sport lockers: R 1 170 for the year

Kindly pay for the locker directly at the school either in cash or by credit/debit card. We
request this method of payment due to the fact that lockers are available on a “first-come, first-
serve basis” and we would not like to take your money if there are no lockers available. Availability
of a locker is checked before any money is accepted.

There are 90 lockers available in Block C for Grades 4-7 and 100 lockers available in Block D for
Grades 8-11.
Your school account will be invoiced for a locker and the payment will reflect on your school
account.
You are welcome to come into the school personally or to send your child to book and pay for a
locker. Should you send your child with money, please advise him/her to come directly to the
admin office first thing in the morning to avoid the money being lost or misplaced.

Kindly familiarise yourself with the following terms and conditions:

Tips on how best to use your school locker

• When you arrive at school first thing in the morning, go and put your after school sports
gear, your aftercare clothes and your lunch bag in your locker. At the same time, place the
books in your suitcase that you need for the first few periods before first break, and the rest
of your books you can leave in your locker.
• During first break, go and swop the books that you have in your suitcase and put the books
in your bag that you need for the periods after first break up to second break – remember,
your lunch bag is in your locker, so enjoy your first break snack and put your lunch box back
into your locker before the end of break so that you are on time for your period after first
break.
• At second break go and change the books that you have in your suitcase for the books in
your locker that are for the periods that you have after second break.
• At the end of the day you need to ensure that you put all the books in your suitcase that you
need to do your homework for the next day! You also now get your sport gear on and you
can keep your school clothes and shoes safe in your locker until Mom or Dad fetches you.
• Nobody will be allowed to leave class to fetch items from the lockers.
• It is most important to note that no electronic devices or any similarly valuable items may be
stored in any locker without the necessary permission.

Things to remember
• Remember booking your locker works on a first come first serve basis!
• You need to also remember to bring your own combination lock to school when you come in
to book and pay for your locker.
• The school may at random intervals do a locker inspection, where the pupils may be asked
to come and unlock a locker for inspection.

Kind Regards
Mr M Ponnen
