1. Where does the Olympic Games come from? When were the first Olympic Games held?
They come from Greece. The first Olympic games being held was in Athens 1896.

2. Have the Olympic Games always been the same throughout history? Were there always
the same sports and disciplines?
No, they weren’t. They have had to change throughout the years, some sports have
despaired, and others have evolved.

3. How often are the Olympic games held?


They are often held every 4 years.

4. Where are the 2024 Olympics going to be held?


They’re going to be held in Paris (France).

5. Which are the Olympic symbols?


The Olympic symbols are the Olympic torch, the Olympic oath, the Olympic rings and Cirius ,
Altius, Forius.
6. Why are the colors of the rings different?
The colors of the rings are different because they represent the continents (Red: America, Blue:
Oceania, Yellow: Asia, Black: Africa and Green: Europe)
7. What does the Olympic flame symbolize? How was it lightened in Barcelona 92?
The Olympic flame symbolizes how the people steal the flame from Mount Olympus.
The flame was lit by a Paralympic archer called Antonio Rebollo. The arrow was lit by the flame
of the Olympic torch.

8. Who is Jesse Owens? Where did he become famous? What was the context where he was
competing?
He was an American athlete that, in 1936, won 4 gold medals in athleticism category in Germany.
The context was that he wanted to show to the world that black people are equal and as good as white
people in sports.

9. Which one is your favorite sport practiced in the Olympic Games? Why?
My favorite sport practiced in the Olympic Games is basketball because, in my opinion, it´s a quick and
funny sport where you can do amazing things with an incredible movement.

words). (Where is he/she from, what sport does she/he practices, best record, curiosities…).

Kyrie Irving is an American professional basketball player who plays in Dallas Mavericks (NBA). He
was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011 with the first overall pick, in this season, he was named
''The Rookie of the Year''. He has been selected as an NBA All Star 8 times an three times as All NBA
teams. He won an NBA championship with Cavaliers in 2016 by LeBron James, he shot the last three
points beating the Golden State Warriors. He also played in the 2016 Olympic games with USA team
as his usual position, they won the golden medal after beating Serbia (96-66). His points record is 60
points against the Orlando Magic in 2022.
