1.0 INTRODUCTION
Bonny terminal requires an upgrade of facilities, processes and systems. Located in the North
East corner of the site will be the requirement for site grading and earth works.
The Scope of Work of this Specification covers the site grading, and the design and installation
of an engineered earth fill in the proposed process area.
Site ggrading shall include the removal of all vegetation, organic material, and large areas of
clay lenses in tthe process area, excepting the removal of all topsoil in the existing tank farm
down to the sand llayer which shall be carried out by the others. All spoil shall be hauled to a
designated area, specified by SPCD.
An engineered fill shall be installed in the process area, approximately 5.0 m above mean sea
level (MSL) reference elevation. The area to be filled shall extend approximately between
N.0+420 and N.0+850 and E.1+250 and E.1+900.. The new roads, road bridges, process
structures, and buildings will be constructed on this fill, which will be approximately 2.13 m thick,
as indicted on drawing E- 031031/sheets 1&2.
The total volume of fill will be approximately 607 750 cubic metres.
The Contractor shall specify a basic unit rate for supplied and installation of engineered fill, with
rates for additional and reduced fill, based on the above estimated volume.
Earth works shall be designed to DEP 34.11.OO.11-GEN, Site Preparation and Earth Works,
and installed under SPCD Standard Construction Specifications, S-3 Clearing, Grading and
Surface Stripping.
Unless noted otherwise, site grading and earthworks shall be designed and constructed in
accordance with this Specification and the attached drawings, codes and standards listed under
Section 5 of this specification, including environmental data for the Bonny Terminal.
5.0 REFERENCES
In case of conflict between this Specification, its associated drawings and the applicable codes
and standards, the order of precedence shall be as follows:
