Surah Bani-Israel Ayat 23-30

23.
‫ك ْٱل ِكبَ َر َأ َح ُدهُ َمٓا َأ ْو‬
َ ‫ۚ ِإ َّما يَ ْبلُ َغ َّن ِعن َد‬ ‫ِإيَّاهُ َوبِ ْٱل ٰ َولِ َدي ِْن ِإحْ َس ٰـنًا‬ ‫ك َأاَّل تَ ْعبُ ُد ٓو ۟ا ِإٓاَّل‬َ ُّ‫ض ٰى َرب‬ َ َ‫َوق‬
‫َك ِري ًۭما‬ ‫تَ ْنهَرْ هُ َما َوقُل لَّهُ َما قَ ْواًۭل‬ ‫ف َواَل‬ ٍّ ۢ ‫ِكاَل هُ َما فَاَل تَقُل لَّهُ َمٓا ُأ‬
For your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And honour your parents. If one or
both of them reach old age in your care, never say to them ˹even˺ ‘ugh,’ nor yell at them. Rather,
address them respectfully.
24.
َ ‫ٱخفِضْ لَهُ َما َجنَا َح ٱل ُّذلِّ ِم َن ٱلرَّحْ َم ِة َوقُل رَّبِّ ٱرْ َح ْمهُ َما َك َما َربَّيَانِى‬
‫ص ِغي ۭ ًرا‬ ْ ‫َو‬
And be humble with them out of mercy, and pray, “My Lord! Be merciful to them as they raised
me when I was young.”
25.
َ ِ‫ان لَِأْل ٰ َّوب‬ ۟ ُ‫وس ُك ْم ۚ ن تَ ُكون‬
‫ين َغفُو ۭ ًرا‬ َ ‫ين فَِإنَّ ۥهُ َك‬
َ ‫ص ٰـلِ ِح‬
َ ‫وا‬ ‫َّربُّ ُك ْم َأ ْعلَ ُم بِ َما فِى نُفُ ِ ِإ‬
Your Lord knows best what is within yourselves. If you are righteous, He is certainly
All-Forgiving to those who ˹constantly˺ turn to Him.
26.
‫يل َواَل تُبَ ِّذرْ تَ ْب ِذيرًا‬ َ ‫ت َذا ْٱلقُرْ بَ ٰى َحقَّ ۥهُ َو ْٱل ِم ْس ِك‬
ِ ِ‫ين َوٱب َْن ٱل َّسب‬ ِ ‫َو َءا‬
Give to close relatives their due, as well as the poor and ˹needy˺ travellers. And do not spend
wastefully.
27.
‫ان ٱل َّش ْيطَ ٰـ ُن لِ َربِِّۦه َكفُو ۭ ًرا‬ ۟ َ ‫ِإ َّن ْٱل ُمبَ ِّذ ِر‬
ِ ‫ين َكانُ ٓوا ِإ ْخ ٰ َو َن ٱل َّشيَ ٰـ ِط‬
َ ‫ين ۖ َو َك‬
Surely the wasteful are ˹like˺ brothers to the devils. And the Devil is ever ungrateful to his Lord.
28.
َ ِّ‫ض َّن َع ْنهُ ُم ٱ ْبتِ َغٓا َء َرحْ َم ۢ ٍة ِّمن َّرب‬
‫ك تَرْ جُوهَا فَقُل لَّهُ ْم قَ ْواًۭل َّم ْيسُو ۭ ًرا‬ ِ ‫َوِإ َّما تُع‬
َ ‫ْر‬
But if you must turn them down ˹because you lack the means to give˺—while hoping to receive
your Lord’s bounty—then ˹at least˺ give them a kind word.
29.
‫ْط فَتَ ْق ُع َد َملُو ًۭما َّمحْ سُورًا‬ ْ ‫ك َواَل تَ ْبس‬
ِ ‫ُطهَا ُك َّل ْٱلبَس‬ َ ِ‫ك َم ْغلُولَةً ِإلَ ٰى ُعنُق‬
َ ‫َواَل تَجْ َعلْ يَ َد‬
Do not be so tight-fisted, for you will be blameworthy; nor so open-handed, for you will end up
in poverty.
30.
ِ َ‫ان بِ ِعبَا ِدِۦه َخبِي ۢ ًرا ب‬
‫صي ۭ ًرا‬ َ ‫ك يَ ْب ُسطُ ٱلرِّ ْز‬
َ ‫ق لِ َمن يَ َشٓا ُء َويَ ْق ِد ُر ۚ ِإنَّ ۥهُ َك‬ َ َّ‫ِإ َّن َرب‬
Surely your Lord gives abundant or limited provisions to whoever He wills. He is certainly
All-Aware, All-Seeing of His servants.
Surah Bani-Israel Ayat 31-35

31.
ْ ‫ان ِخ‬ ۟
‫طًۭٔـا َكبِي ۭ ًرا‬ ٍ ۢ ‫َواَل تَ ْقتُلُ ٓوا َأ ْولَ ٰـ َد ُك ْم َخ ْشيَةَ ِإ ْملَ ٰـ‬
َ ‫ق ۖ نَّحْ ُن نَرْ ُزقُهُ ْم َوِإيَّا ُك ْم ۚ ِإ َّن قَ ْتلَهُ ْم َك‬
Do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Surely killing
them is a heinous sin.
32.
َ ‫ٱلزنَ ٰ ٓى ۖ ِإنَّ ۥهُ َك‬
‫ان فَ ٰـ ِح َش ۭةً َو َسٓا َء َسبِياًۭل‬ ۟ ‫َواَل تَ ْق َرب‬
ِّ ‫ُوا‬
Do not go near adultery. It is truly a shameful deed and an evil way.
33.
ْ ‫ق ۗ َو َمن قُتِ َل َم‬
‫ظلُو ًۭما فَقَ ْد َج َع ْلنَا لِ َولِيِِّۦه س ُْلطَ ٰـ ۭنًا فَاَل‬ ِّ ‫س ٱلَّتِى َح َّر َم ٱهَّلل ُ ِإاَّل بِ ْٱل َح‬ ۟ ُ‫َواَل تَ ْقتُل‬
َ ‫وا ٱلنَّ ْف‬
‫ان َمنصُو ۭ ًرا‬ َ ‫ْرف فِّى ْٱلقَ ْت ِل ۖ ِإنَّ ۥهُ َك‬ ِ ‫يُس‬
Do not take a ˹human˺ life—made sacred by Allah—except with ˹legal˺ right. If anyone is killed
unjustly, We have given their heirs the authority, but do not let them exceed limits in retaliation,
for they are already supported ˹by law˺.
34.
۟ ُ‫ُوا ما َل ْٱليَتِ ِيم اَّل بٱلَّتِى ِهى َأحْ َس ُن َحتَّ ٰى يَ ْبلُ َغ َأ ُش َّد ۥهُ ۚ َوَأ ْوف‬
َ ‫وا بِ ْٱل َع ْه ِد ۖ ِإ َّن ْٱل َع ْه َد َك‬ ۟
‫ان‬ َ ِ ‫ِإ‬ َ ‫َواَل تَ ْق َرب‬
‫َم ْسـُٔواًۭل‬
Do not come near the wealth of the orphan—unless intending to enhance it—until they attain
maturity. Honour ˹your˺ pledges, for you will surely be accountable for them.
35.
َ ِ‫اس ْٱل ُم ْستَقِ ِيم ۚ ٰ َذل‬
‫ك َخ ْي ۭ ٌر َوَأحْ َس ُن تَْأ ِوياًۭل‬ ۟ ۟
ِ َ‫َوَأ ْوفُوا ْٱل َك ْي َل ِإ َذا ِك ْلتُ ْم َو ِزنُوا بِ ْٱلقِ ْسط‬
Give in full when you measure, and weigh with an even balance. That is fairest and best in the
end.
Surah Bani-Israel Ayat 36-40

36.
‫ان َع ْنهُ َم ْسـُٔواًۭل‬ َ ‫ص َر َو ْٱلفَُؤ ا َد ُكلُّ ُأ ۟ولَ ٰـِٓئ‬
َ ‫ك َك‬ َ َ‫ك بِِۦه ِع ْل ٌم ۚ ِإ َّن ٱل َّس ْم َع َو ْٱلب‬
َ َ‫ْس ل‬ ُ ‫َواَل تَ ْق‬
َ ‫ف َما لَي‬
Do not follow what you have no ˹sure˺ knowledge of. Indeed, all will be called to account for
˹their˺ hearing, sight, and intellect.
37.
‫ض َولَن تَ ْبلُ َغ ْٱل ِجبَا َل طُواًۭل‬
َ ْ‫ق ٱَأْلر‬
َ ‫ك لَن تَ ْخ ِر‬ ِ ْ‫ش فِى ٱَأْلر‬
َ َّ‫ض َم َرحًا ۖ ِإن‬ ِ ‫َواَل تَ ْم‬
And do not walk on the earth arrogantly. Surely you can neither crack the earth nor stretch to the
height of the mountains.
38.
‫ك َم ْكرُو ۭهًا‬
َ ِّ‫ان َسيُِّئ ۥهُ ِعن َد َرب‬ َ ِ‫ُكلُّ ٰ َذل‬
َ ‫ك َك‬
The violation of any of these ˹commandments˺ is detestable to your Lord.
39.
‫ك ِم َن ْٱل ِح ْك َم ِة ۗ َواَل تَجْ َعلْ َم َع ٱهَّلل ِ ِإلَ ٰـهًا َءا َخ َر فَتُ ْلقَ ٰى فِى َجهَنَّ َم‬ َ ِ‫ٰ َذل‬
َ ‫ك ِم َّمٓا َأ ْو َح ٰ ٓى ِإلَ ْي‬
َ ُّ‫ك َرب‬
‫َملُو ًۭما َّم ْدحُورًا‬
This is part of the wisdom which your Lord has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺. And do not set up
any other god with Allah ˹O humanity˺, or you will be cast into Hell, blameworthy, rejected.
40.
َ ُ‫ين َوٱتَّ َخ َذ ِم َن ْٱل َملَ ٰـِٓئ َك ِة ِإنَ ٰـثًا ۚ ِإنَّ ُك ْم لَتَقُول‬
‫ون قَ ْواًل َع ِظي ًۭما‬ َ ِ‫َأفََأصْ فَ ٰى ُك ْم َربُّ ُكم بِ ْٱلبَن‬
Has your Lord favoured you ˹pagans˺ with sons and taken angels as ˹His˺ daughters?1 You are
truly making an outrageous claim.
