STOICISM- to generate happiness one must
learn to distance oneself and be apathetic.
Apathea- to be indifferent

Happiness-can only be attained by a careful
practice of apathy
THEISM- God as the fulcrum of human
existence. ultimate basis of happiness is the
communion with God. (heaven-supernatural
reality)
HUMANISM-the freedom of man to carve his
own destiny and to legislate his own lives,
free from the shackles of a God that
monitors and controls.

-works for the benefit of humanity
