[Transition to Forecaster in the Weather Studio]

Forecaster: "Super Typhoon Mawar, also named Betty, entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 2
am on Saturday, May 27th, marking the country's second tropical cyclone for 2023 and the first super
typhoon of the year."

"Betty made its entry into PAR after impacting Guam with torrential rain and fierce winds."

[Displaying Betty's Location on the Map]

"As of 4 am on Saturday, Betty was situated 1,320 kilometers east of Central Luzon, moving at a west-
northwest direction with a speed of 25 kilometers per hour."

"PAGASA forecasts Betty to sustain its west-northwest movement throughout the weekend before
gradually veering northwest and slowing down by Monday, May 29th, while positioned over the waters
east of extreme Northern Luzon."

[Forecasted Movement of Betty]

"It's anticipated that Betty may reach a near-stationary state between late Tuesday, May 30th, and early
Wednesday, May 31st, when it's projected to be closest to Batanes, within a range of 250 to 300
kilometers."

[PAGASA's Analysis of Betty's Strength]

"Betty slightly weakened upon entering PAR, recording maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h, down
from 205 km/h, with gustiness decreasing to 240 km/h from 250 km/h."
"Despite this, PAGASA expects Betty to maintain super typhoon status over the weekend."

[Transitioning to Safety Advisories]

"Though short-term intensification isn't ruled out, especially within the next 12 to 24 hours, PAGASA
anticipates Betty to begin considerable weakening by Monday or Tuesday while lingering over the waters
east of Batanes. It is then projected to downgrade to a typhoon."

[PAGASA's Positive Development]

"In a positive turn, Betty's forecasted track as of 5 am on Saturday suggests a shift upward, reducing the
likelihood of mainland Cagayan being within the cone of uncertainty or probability for landfall. However,
due to its expansive size, Betty remains a potential threat."

[Forecaster's Safety Advisory]

"Given the uncertainties surrounding Betty's movement, it's crucial for everyone to remain vigilant and stay
updated with official bulletins and advisories from local authorities. Prepare emergency kits, secure loose
objects, and be ready for evacuation orders if necessary." For Further updates, stay tune to PULSE NEWS.
