Capstone Update #1

What I have accomplished so far

I have spoken with my mentor Steve Serbic over the phone about what I can do to help first
responders mentally and emotionally. We chatted for about 30 minutes, and I asked him a series of
questions that would help to better my understanding of the mental health crisis within the world of
first responders.

What I plan to accomplish by the end of the week

I hope to update my website as well as reach out to some local fire halls and police stations in hopes of
speaking with some members about the issues previously discussed.

My needs (materials, time, space, mentor etc.)

Time to speak with my mentor, firefighters, and police officers.

Time to film and edit a video.

Challenges I encountered and how I have overcome them

I have struggled a bit with getting things done a bit quicker as I have had some struggles outside of
school but now that I am feeling a bit better, I am fully prepared to get back on track and start
progressing faster.
