Working within the heavy vehicle industry for the past 11+ years at numerous locations throughout the
Territory, Matt has proven capabilities accompanied by demonstrated experience and ability to work in
high pressure, high volume and dynamic environments.
Spending six years engaged in Concrete Pumping roles which are classified under a specific High Risk Work
Licence (PB), Matt has a clearly demonstrated understanding of rules, procedures, associated legislation
and business, along with industry experience directly transferrable to the operator’s role at Grasberg
Mine.
From driving semi side tippers and rear end tippers, to supervising a night shift team for a busy quarry
operation prior to the concrete industry, Matt’s career experience as a Truck Driver, Supervisor, Yard
Hand, Storeman and Diamond Driller spans a collective seven years. Working in the electrical, mining and
farming sector, Matt has developed the transferable skills of working in physically demanding roles,
following instruction and time management.
With a particular enjoyment of manual roles and providing client-centric service, the objective is to

Experience
Heavy Vehicle Operator, Veolia, Shoal Bay Waste Facility, NT *2022 – Current
ABOUT: With nearly 220,000 employees worldwide, Veolia designs solutions for water, waste and energy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Onboarded as Class 3 operator: compactor, loader, water cart, hook truck. Leading
hand delegations within 6 months of commencement. Supervise and monitor receival of specialise waste
including asbestos containment. Monitor report & correct issues as they present, including visual
inspections for leachate releases. Responsible for daily service run on mobile plant for Shoal Bay Facility.
Operator, Meales Concrete Pumping Darwin, Holtz NT *2019 – 2022
ABOUT: Meales is a specialist independent concrete pumping contractor, who offer the largest fleet of
mobile boom pumps, placing booms and stationary line pumps for hire in Australia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for site scoping and managing the placement of trucks ahead of
pumping operations, including direct liaison with Head Contractor and taking temporary control of site
from site management for the high-risk activity. Matt is well versed in the safe movement of mobile plant.
Operation of concrete pumps, maintenance and servicing of trucks and pumping equipment in line with
regulatory requirements, supervision of line hands and workers in the vicinity of concrete operations.
Responsible for population of WHS documentation including daily logs, permits, SWMS, risk assessments
and others as required by contract and legislation.
ACHEIVEMENTS: Meales purchased DCP in a commercial transaction and as a condition of this company
changeover, purchased the employees. Matt’s continuation of works was integral to the transition to new
management and provided direct assistance with supervision of new team members and re-branding
equipment and continuation of client care with existing clients. Meales conduct a large volume of works
on defence and restricted contract sites and are equipped with a 57m placing boom, which is the largest
pump in the Northern Territory. Matt was given the responsibility of operating the 57m within these sites,
due to the complexity of operations, as well as the additional safety and risk factors associated with
complex projects.
Operator/Line hand, Darwin Concrete Pumping (DCP), Holtz NT 2016 – 2019*
ABOUT: Darwin Concrete Pumping are a major provider of concrete pumping services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: As per ‘Meales Concrete Pumping’ above.
ACHEIVEMENTS: Due to strong worth ethics, attention to implementing safety controls and
documentation, demonstrated capabilities, as well as general hands-on-approach to supervising and
mentoring of others, Matt was promoted from line hand to concrete pumping operator within 12 months,
as opposed to the industry expectation of 3-5 years.
Nightshift Batcher/Supervisor/ Truck Driver, Yebna Quarries, NT 2014 – 2016
ABOUT: Yebna Quarries is a privately owned quarry, supplying material for the construction industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Loader/IT Operator, supervising batching operations, vehicle operation: semi side
tipper, rear end tipper, skip bin truck, water cart.
ACHEIVEMENTS: As a dedicated and hardworking employee, I was promoted from Aggie Driver to Batcher
with a pay increase. Delegated the additional responsibility of supervising the night shifts, and in this
capacity, I effectively supervise my team, providing individuals with the ongoing direction and mentoring
