Role Purpose: To maintain regular ongoing communications activity and to co-ordinate, deliver
and promote a programme of events and activities that engage stakeholders with
Acme’s core mission of supporting artists in necessitous circumstances, with a particular
focus on Acme’s 50th Anniversary year.
Communications
• Be a cross-organisational gatekeeper for Acme’s brand and identity; overseeing external written
communications, design, consistency, and meeting external partner and stakeholder obligations.
• Preparation, production and distribution of all publicity material and collateral; writing, editing, liaising
with key staff members and proofing all copy.
• Manage commissioning of photography and other documentation of artists, building and events,
managing contracts and licence agreements and ensuring appropriate clearance.
• Oversight and quality control of delegated communications tasks.
• Encouraging and holding Acme’s departments accountable for sharing and feeding in required
information in a timely manner, where appropriate.
• Have oversight of the communications and events calendar and, with support from the
Communications and Events Officer, ensure the effective delivery of:
• Managing the Acme website, including copy updates, liaison with designers, developers, content
providers, and reporting on analytical data.
• Managing Acme’s social media and e-newsletter platforms; including gathering and creating regular
content, updating records, and reporting on analytical data.
• Providing effective online data collection, including creating and designing forms for recruitment, artist
applications, programme participant evaluations, etc.
Job Description
Communications and Events Manager
• Managing Acme’s contacts database (Good CRM), including developing key areas, setting staff
guidelines, adhering to GDPR, regular updating and maintaining, and proactively developing key areas
of the database.
• Ensure organisational wide staff training for the CRM system, monitoring for correct use and quality
control.
• Preparation, production, and distribution of Annual Report; writing, editing, liaising with staff members
and proofing all copy.
Public Relations
• Consider and develop the positioning, profile, and key messages of Acme.
• Grow and maintain network of media contacts.
• Devise and deliver press campaigns, in liaison with key staff and PR support, ensuring impactful coverage
across a range of media.
• Create and distribute press releases and associated materials.
• Manage relationship with ad-hoc external PR individual or agency as required.
• Contribute to the development and management of stakeholder relationships.
• Liaise with key staff who represent Acme publicly, ensuring clear and consistent organisational
messaging.
• Represent Acme publicly through presentations and regular attendance at Acme and external public
events.
Working days will be 5 days / 35 hours per week, working hours to be agreed. There will be the option
for flexible and remote working. Two-year fixed term contract. Attendance at out of hours events
required, time in lieu given.

Knowledge/Experience
Minimum five years’ proven work experience Essential Application/interview
in marketing, communications, or events
management.

Eligibility
Your principal place of work is the Company’s premises (as above). However, you may,
following consultation, be required to work on either a temporary or on an indefinite
basis at any premises which the Company currently has or may subsequently acquire or
at any premises at which it may from time to time provide services.
Salary: £40,000
Days and hours of 5 days / 35 hours per week, there will be the option for flexible and remote working.
Out of hours work will be required, for which time off in lieu will be granted.
