Task 2: Today family members do not eat meals together. Is this a positive or negative trend?

As society has developed, changed lifestyles have been of much interest to the general public.
Currently in many industrialized countries many city dwellers either have meals by themselves
or with outdoors relationships rather than with their family members, which is traditional and old
fashioned. I personally think this is a negative trend.
First of all, this phenomena can induce a positive change in individual life as well as society.
Individual meals are usually fast and have a wide range of options for food, which can be quite
attractive to those who don’t want to spend too much time on family meals or get bored of
traditional dishes. It can also create such a convenient lifestyle for youngsters as they can enjoy
life as individuals. Moreover, this kind of habit opens more opportunities for extra industries and
develops unique cultures just for individual eaters. For example, food shipping services have
increased in recent years thanks to the rising need for fast food in individual meals.
However, there are several potential problems the change can bring. Since individuals have their
meals mostly on their own, the lackness of communication between members begins, leading to
weaker family bonds, and they may overlook the value of family or community. This can result
in the prevalence of individualism in society. They will be more likely to think for their own
benefit or interest first. Besides, more practical matters in real life can emerge such as meals
without scientific time can lead to many health diseases like high blood pressure or diabetes.
This can all exacerbate the people's health concerns, which are already the chronic problems of
our society.
In conclusion, on balance I think that currently, people’s habit of eating alone is a negative
development for individuals and society. This is because there are more drawbacks than benefits.
Materially, this is worsening the physical health’s problems. Moreover, as family bonds get
weaker, individualism becomes widespread, making people more lonely.
