Compound Curve
CE Board Nov 2016
8. A compound curve has the characteristics:
I1 = 24° D1 = 6°
I2 = 36° D2 = 4°
Stationing of P.C. = 10 + 420
Compute the stationing of P.C.C. and P.T
Compute also the stationing of P.I.
Reverse Curve
CE Board May2016
10. A reversed curve of equal radii connects two parallel tangents 12
m apart. The length of chord from P.C. to P.T. is 140 m. Determine the
radius of the curve.
30m. if the radius of the second curve is 300m. Compute the radius
of the first curve.
Transition Curve
12. A transition curve is required for a single carriageway road with
a design speed of 85 km/hr. The radius of the simple curve is 510 m.
Assume the rate of change of centripetal acceleration value of 0.3
m/s3. Determine the transition length L.
