of senior secondary students in Delhi indulging in gang fight and 3 were seriously
injured and 6 were arrested for the same. The incident has terrified me to the core
raising concern about the rapid decline of morality and discipline in the present
young generation.
PARA:02 My observation has revealed that the up-bringing of the children by their parents
and elders have taken a side-corner in this money-minded world. Parents are
ambitiously concerned to accumulate more wealth for the future of their children.
But they have failed to teach moral values of discipline, instead pampering culture
has substituted its place. Children and youth have been permitted uncontrolled
access to internet. They are exposed to uncensored posts and videos that are easily
available with a click on the websites. Their regular exposure to virtual violent
games and video clips on social websites are taming them to be arrogant and cynic.
PARA: 03 Since, the youngsters have not experienced love and care at home; they are unable
to express love and show respect to others. The negative talks and discussions
about relatives and neighbours impacted the children with hatred towards them.
The lavish pocket money and gifts lead the children to immaturity and
carelessness. The don’t know the value of hard work. There is a total negligence
of moral values. They take even their mistakes for granted as the parents attempt
to justify them as a matter of prestige.
PARA: 04 It is high time to bring an end to this deteriorating trend. The education system
should be revised in its curriculum, manifesting compulsory moral education.
Parents should be continuously counselled to provide proper guidance to their
children. They should be encouraged to supervise the activities of the children and
to provide love, care and counsel more than fulfilling their demands. The talents
of youth should be guided to constructive activities.
