Rob the Mechanic CAR CARE SERVICE

3070 Cedar Crest Court
CHECKLIST
Dubuque, Iowa 52003

BATTERY, CHARGING SYSTEM, CABLES AND TERMINALS: Your battery and charging
system will be tested by a trained technician, who will also clean any surface
corrosion and verify that connections are secure. If the battery is over four years
old, consider replacing it.

BRAKES/ UNDERCAR:Your brakes will be inspected by a trained technician who will

verify they are in proper working condition and will recommended replacement if
needed. Spring is a good time to check the entire brake system. Winter conditions
and salt on roads can lead to corrosion and premature failure. Replacing worn or
damaged brake parts can improve vehicle safety and help reduce wear on other
related components.

TUNE UP: A technician will check the vehicle’s mileage and manufacturer’s
recommended service intervals to see if service is needed. Ignoring tune-up service
can snowball into more catastrophic and expensive repairs down the road.

WIPER BLADES & LIGHTS: The operation and condition of wiper blades and all
headlights, taillights, emergency flashers, turn signals, brake lights and back-up
lights will be checked for your safety. It is manufacturers recommendation to change
wiper blades at least every 6 months. Harsh weather can deteriorate wiper blades
and cause cracking, streaking, or chattering blades.

FILTERS: A technician will check the vehicle's mileage and manufacturer's

recommended service intervals and suggest if replacement is needed. It is important
to have your air filter checked in the spring time, as the outside air becomes filled
with pollen, dust and debris. A clogged air filter won’t allow enough air to enter the
engine; this, along with a dirty oil filter can spell trouble for your vehicle. It is best to
replace your oil and all filters before spring travel plans.

FLUIDS: Your oil will be changed and fluids (washer, coolant, transmission, brake and
power steering) will be checked to make sure they are at or above minimum safe
levels.
