PREPOSITIONS OF TIME

In is used for months, years, centuries and long periods.

Examples: in August, in summer, in the afternoon, in 2017, in the 1980s

On is used for days and dates.

Examples: on Sunday, on the 25th of December 2016, on New Year's Eve

At is used for precise times.

Examples: at 3 o'clock, at 10:30 a.m., at noon, at bedtime
