Selfie generation
The selfie generation refers to the current trend among teenagers whereby they take self-
portrait photos using their smartphones or cameras. This phenomenon has gained significant
popularity in recent years, and it is important to study its effects on young people. The purpose
of this essay is to examine factors contributing to the rise of selfie culture among teens, positive

Social media platforms have played a significant role in the growth of selfie culture
among young people. Teens often post selfies on social media platforms like Instagram,
Snapchat, Facebook, and Twitter to seek validation from their peers. They want others to see

strangers towards unwanted access causing embarrassment for victims (Driedger, 2018).
Therefore, it is important for young people to understand the potential consequences of sharing
