PHARMACY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

1. Introduction

The purpose of this Pharmacy System project is to improve the maintenance and
manipulation of the drugs in the medicals. The pharmacy system will be used to minimize
the time and resource by maintaining the details of the drug systemically so that the data can
be used in possible quickest time. While the resource which is minimized are workforce,
money, papers, etc. The system is user friendly and will help the pharmacist. This Pharmacy
System will reduce the burden on pharmacist and will make the system efficient by
providing the more accurate details about drugs in the medical.

PHARMACY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

1.1 Existing System

• Currently, the medical works are based on the manual process, and each work is
maintained in the paper.

• The details of purchasing drugs, audits, sell reports maintained on the paper while
anyone can enter into the system and can make changes in these reports, so it is not a
safe method to keep the information on the paper.

• The pharmacist faces problem in searching the products from the self as it is not an
easy method to remember about the place of each medicine.

• There no Pharmacy System which can alert the pharmacist about the end of the drugs.

6
PHARMACY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

1.2 Proposed System

• The design of Pharmacy System is based on the computer which will simplify the
maintenance of the information, accessible and efficient.

• The Pharmacy System will provide the information about the end of the drugs in the
medical so that the physician can order them drugs before the end.

• The Pharmacist and nurses will get more accurate results at the time sell , about the
details of use of medicines and the dosages so that the present system.

• The records of each work will be secure as to access the information. The user must
have to provide the ID and Password in the system.

1.3 Scope of the System

The Pharmacy System has a broad and intricate reach. It equips pharmacists and other
healthcare workers to effectively manage inventory, ensuring that medicines are available
when needed and preventing expensive shortages. Additionally, it streamlines the
prescription procedure, lowering mistakes and enhancing patient safety. The technology also
helps to keep track of patient information, facilitate smooth communication between medical
professionals, and improve patient satisfaction.

1.4 Fact Finding Techniques

Fact-finding techniques are crucial for gathering information and requirements when
developing a pharmacy management system project. Here are some commonly used fact-
finding techniques specifically tailored for such projects:

 Interviews: Conducting interviews with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and

other stakeholders can provide valuable insights into their daily workflow,
challenges, and requirements for the system.

 Surveys: Distributing surveys to pharmacy staff and customers can help collect
quantitative data about their preferences, needs, and suggestions for the system.

 Observation: Observing the current pharmacy operations in action allows you to

understand the workflow, identify pain points, and observe opportunities for
improvement.

 Document Analysis: Reviewing existing documents such as pharmacy procedures

manuals, inventory records, and regulatory requirements can provide detailed
information about current processes and compliance needs.

 Focus Groups: Bringing together small groups of pharmacy staff to discuss

specific aspects of the system can facilitate in-depth discussions and uncover
diverse perspectives.

 Workflow Analysis: Analyzing the current workflow of pharmacy operations,
including prescription processing, inventory management, and patient interactions, can
help identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in the system design.

2)Objectives: -

• The primary aim of pharmacy system is to improve accuracy and enhance safety and
efficiency in the pharmaceutical store.
• Pharmacy information system can reduce medications errors, improve patient safety,
automate workflow, report drug usage, track costs, computerize inventory, store
patient profiles.
• These systems can keep track of medications, which is important when administering
controlled substances.
