Everyone knows that band kids do sooo many other things as well (shoutout to
Archery, Lacrosse, Speech and Debate this weekend in addition to Girls Basketball
going on to State!!) , so we appreciate ALL of you for all that you have done for athletic
bands this year!

2.Festival Performance at WKU Van Meter March 14th, 2024

Currently, these are the time we have for Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band performing for Festival.
We plan on having both groups stay and watch each other perform. This is a long afternoon, but we
believe this will give an opportunity for our students to watch other bands and support one another.

The schedule that they create is very complicated with the availability of ALL of the 3rd District KMEA
Bands. The morning slots are all of the middle school bands and the high school bands must perform in
the afternoon.

Here are the times we have for both bands:

Warm-Up Time Performance Sight-Reading

Wind Ensemble 2:25PM 3:00PM 3:35PM
In between our groups’ performances, we will have students eat dinner on campus AND watch
other bands perform on stage.
Symphonic Band 6:25PM 7:00PM 7:35PM

4. Solo and Ensemble and Private Lesson Academy

Solo and Ensemble will happen on Saturday, April 27th at Drakes Creek MS.
Money is due for Solo and Ensemble! $10 TOTAL for each event
EXAMPLE: for a Brass Quintet each member would have to contribute $2.50; solos are $10
each; Flute Duet $5.00 each person

The deadline for forms for the Private Lesson Academy are due this Friday, March 8th.
We have forms in our office if you forgot to grab one!
