1. THIS TUESDAY! Pre-Festival at Concert at BGJHS 6PM March 5th, 2024

All band students are expected to stay for the entire concert and support one another!
We will have three ‘judges’ like we have had in the past to provide commentary on the bands’
performance sitting in the back of the auditorium. They will be speaking into their phones to provide
a voice memo for each group to listen to. If families would like to avoid hearing them provide
comments to the students during the performance, we ask for you to please sit closer to the stage.

2.Festival Performance at WKU Van Meter March 14th, 2024

Currently, these are the time we have for Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band performing for Festival.
We plan on having both groups stay and watch each other perform. This is a long afternoon, but we
believe this will give an opportunity for our students to watch other bands and support one another.

The schedule that they create is very complicated with the availability of ALL of the 3rd District KMEA
Bands. The morning slots are all of the middle school bands and the high school bands must perform in
the afternoon.

Here are the times we have for both bands:

In between our groups’ performances, we will have students eat dinner on campus AND watch
other bands perform on stage.

4. Solo and Ensemble and Private Lesson Academy

Solo and Ensemble will happen on Saturday, April 27th at Drakes Creek MS.
Those interested in taking private lessons this semester must be performing a solo in order
to be in lessons. We will be signing up for solos and ensembles this week!

The deadline for forms for the Private Lesson Academy are due this Friday, March 8th.
We have forms in our office if you forgot to grab one!

cancellations.
