- What’s the cost of this type of media
- How memorable
Social media: global online communities which use platforms such as Facebook, twitter, Instagram
e.c.t to communicate and share ideas.
Advantages:
- Allows videos
- Information spreads quickly
- Huge audience
- 3 billion Facebook users
- 1 billion Instagram users
- 1.3 billion twitter users
- 500 million TikTok users
- Can be accessed through different devices
Limitations:
- Hackers
- False information
- Internet trolls
- Censorship
- Older people are less likely to use it
Viral messaging: spreading the message via social media- like a virus, could be a retweet. Its cheap
and effective but there is no guarantee that people will pass it on. It can also identify individuals with
high social networking potential
Events: large scale public events with the aim to raise awareness and money towards a specific
cause.
Advantages:
- Likely to be shown on TV, local or nation news
- Celebrity support
- Can contribute without actually having to go
- Normally have fun element which attracts a lot of people
Limitations:
- Might not get the coverage which is expected
- Technical issues
- Need funding to set it up initially
