INTRODUCTION

An investigation into the types of motor vehicles that pass my house over a five day period.

There is a lack of sales for the Nissan Vehicle at the car dealership in my area, Henzel Terrace.
Because of this, I investigated the types of motor vehicles that pass my house over a five day
period. Gathering enough information to inform my colleagues on what area to extend their
business to for deals. The purpose of this is to provide a helping hand to my fellow colleagues at
the dealership. This information will guide them on what specific areas they should advertise and
extend their business. This will allow them to be successful in their sales allowing them to make
more funds.

1
METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION

The data was collected through observation/investigation. Every morning at approximately

8:00am I would go outside for 5 hours and record the amount of cars that passes my house over 5
day period. I provided a shed for myself so that regardless of the intensive heat or rainfall I could
still collect data for my School Based Assessment. Using my pencil and paper, I jotted down
every vehicle that passed my home. Breaks were conducted during the watch but still got
accurate readings with the help of my relatives.

ANALYSIS OF DATA

In the data presentation, a table and bar graph was used to present data. The data collected in the
table showed that out of the 171 cars that passed my Toyota cars were seen more frequently and
Nissan cars the least. Based on the data shown, the most cars were seen on Monday with a
number of 43 cars passing that day. Overall out of the 171 cars that passed my house, 34 of them
were Honda, 48 were Toyota, 20 were BMW, 18 were Nissan, 29 were Subaru, and 22 were
Mazda. This area is best for the car dealer company since Nissan vehicles are the least dominant
in the area.

5
INTERPRETATION OF DATA

Based on the data collected and the research that was conducted, a potential reason why such a
small amount of Nissan vehicles are in my area could be because of their rarity. Based on the
research collected from the car dealer, the Nissan vehicle that people in my community want
might not be available in Jamaica due to the community’s high standards. Another Potential
reason why Nissans are scarce in my area might be based on personal preference. According to
research, it stated that many people prefer to purchase Toyota vehicles. Due to the company’s
popularity in the world and quality, people are more inclined to purchase Toyota vehicles than
any other. It could also be that the people in my area are not exposed to many Nissan deals
leading to its low usage in the area

6
CONCLUSION

Because of preference and popularity, all vehicle types won’t give the same results. Based on the
research and data collection, Toyota vehicles are the more preferred and Nissan the least
preferred by the citizens in my area. Toyota vehicles are recorded as the most bought vehicles in
the world, hence their huge incline in purchases and usage making other vehicle companies less
used. The best area to attempt deals for Nissan vehicles is in Henzel Terrace where the number
of uses is the least.
