I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:
a. discuss the importance of planting and propagating trees, fruit-bearing trees, and
marketing seedlings.
b. determine the benefits derived from planting trees and fruit-bearing trees to families
and communities, and.
c. identify successful orchard growers in the community or adjacent communities.

Content Standards: demonstrates an understanding of scientific practices in planting trees


and fruit trees.

Performance Standards: applies knowledge and skills in planting trees and fruit trees.

B. Motivation:

Before we are going to proceed to


our lesson today, I have a game for
you. This is entitled, ‘where do I
belong?’ I will be letting 10 (the learners participate the game)
volunteers to play the game, 5 from
boys and the other 5 coming from
the girls. So, as you can see in the
board, you will just have to put the
pictures on the correct column.

Okay, Very Good. Let us clap our (clapping their hands)

Our country has a lot of non-bearing


fruit trees that can be planted in
both rural and urban areas, some of
these are, Narra, Bamboo Tree,
Indian Tree, Molave, and Mahogany. (the learners listen to the teacher)

We also have some common fruit-


bearing trees, Mango, Guava,
Guyabano, Duhat, and Rambutan.

Why is there a need for plant propagation?

Plant Propagation is the process of


reproducing or creating a new plant or
seedling. It is an important part of gardening,
whether outdoors or indoors. Plants are (the learners carefully listen to the
living things that grows either through their teacher’s discussion)
roots, stems, leaves or their flowers, fruits,
and seeds. It is a method of growing new
plants from the different parts of existing
plants.

5. Chemical products such as resin,
rubber, and turpentine.
