To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to provide a reference for Ashley Perrotte. I had the pleasure of supervising and
evaluating Ashley in her Field Experience 600 practicum placement, teaching grade 3 at Footprints for
Learning Academy, private charter school in Airdrie, January – February 2023. Field Experience 600 was
her first practicum where pre-service teachers worked towards teaching .50 FTE over a five-week
placement. Ashley is introspective, receiving feedback and thoughtfully examining ways to implement it
into her practice. She has a quiet nature and worked to establish her teacher presence within the
classroom, having success in her final weeks. Her quiet, gentle approach helped her to develop caring
relationships with her students over the five weeks. As Ashley increased teaching time, she developed an
understanding of the connectedness of curriculum, assessment, UDL and differentiation. Her planning
became more active and engaging. Ashley’s commitment to continued growth resulted in a successful
field experience.

I was also Ashley’s instructor in the fall of 2022 for the Learning Theory & Application 500 course.
Through her introspective nature, Ashley explored the theories and methodologies and how they
connected to or challenged her personal understandings. Ashley brought course learnings into her
assignments, preservice teaching, and reflections. Ashley’s desire to develop her teaching praxis was
evident throughout her field experience and course work. I wish her all the best in her second term and
final field experience. I am confident she will continue with success. Please feel free to contact me
further.

Sincerely,

Tammy Dikeman, M.A. B.Ed.
