Vision statement focuses more on the end desire or ideals of the insitution. It is
a statement that sets our desire as a distinct and motivating goal for us to

1. I firmly believe that the primary goal of the healthcare system that should take
precedence in our country is improving the responsiveness of the health system to
the population it serves. While we have witnessed the implementation of laws and
reforms aimed at promoting the well-being of our nation, there remains a critical
gap in how our healthcare system responds to the needs of our people. The sluggish
responsiveness of our healthcare system, particularly in local areas, became
painfully evident during the pandemic. Our nation was confronted with a crisis for
which we were ill-prepared, resulting in extensive damage to not only our physical
and mental health but also our economy. The delayed response, resulted from
inadequate funding and planning, serves as a stark reminder of why prioritizing
this goal to enhance our healthcare system is imperative. It's not just a matter of
convenience; it's a matter of safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of every
Filipino.

2. No. To be honest, I firmly believe that there is considerable room for

improvement within our healthcare sector. While many may argue that the healthcare
system is on the right track, I hold a contrary viewpoint. Drawing from my personal
experience in Lanao del Sur, a province I hail from, I've witnessed firsthand the
deficiencies in terms of the healthcare workforce, medical equipment, financial
resources, and even the availability of essential medications. These deficiencies
have compelled us to undertake lengthy journeys to access the necessary healthcare
services. Furthermore, it's disheartening to note that some individuals in my
community choose to forgo healthcare services due to the financial burden of
traveling to distant cities for treatment. This situation highlights the urgent
need for a more equitable healthcare system. Given that even a relatively well-off
province like ours faces these challenges, one can only imagine the challenges
faced by those individuals in even more remote areas. For that reason, I would like
to recommend a healthcare strategy that prioritizes the needs of underserved
regions before distributing resources into cities like Manila and other parts of
Luzon. This approach would ensure that those who are most in need of assistance
receive it promptly, fostering a healthcare sector dedicated to the well-being and
betterment of every Filipino.
