SECURITY OFFICER'S QUALIFICATION, AND FUNCTION ATTRIBUTES

SECURITY PERSONNEL
special agents employed by a public utility to perform police functions. They are tasked with
securing the premises and personnel by staying on patrol, monitoring surveillance equipment,
performing building inspections, guarding entry points, and verifying visitors.
• Qualification of Security Personnel
a. Filipino citizen;
b. Not less eighteen (18) years of Age:
c. Must have taken a private security course/seminar and/or must have adequate
training or experience in security business or rendering security/detective services;
d. Of good moral character and must not have been convicted of any crime or violation
of these rules and regulations carrying a penalty of prohibition to be licensed; and
e. Must be physically and mentally fit.
2. Qualifications of Security Guard
• He must be a Filipino Citizen
• He must be at least high school graduate
• He must be mentally sound and physically fit
• He must be not less than 18 years of age nor more than 50 years of age (for new applicants and
SGs in non-supervisory position); and
• Has undergone a pre-licensing training course or its equivalent.
3. Qualification of security officer
No person shall be licensed as Security Officer unless he has the
following qualifications:
• Filipino Citizen;
• Holder of a Baccalaureate Degree;
• Physically and mentally fit
• Has graduated from a security Officer Training Course or its equivalent;

Security Consultants
- A security consultant, also sometimes called a security analyst, pinpoints vulnerabilities in
computer systems, networks, and software programs and works toward solutions to strengthen
them against hackers. This consultant role is a strong example of a highly specialized IT
occupation.
4. Qualifications of Security Consultants

No person shall be licensed as a Security Consultant unless he


possesses the following qualifications:

• Filipino citizen
• Physically and mentally fit,
• Holder of a Masters degree in either Criminology. Public Administration, MNSA,
Industrial Security Administration, or Law.
• Must have at least ten (10) years experience in the operation and management of security
business.

5. Qualification of a private detective


No person shall be licensed as a private detective unless possesses
the following qualifications:

g. Filipino citizen,
h. Physically and mentally fit,
i. Holder of a Baccalaureate degree preferably Bachelor of Laws or Bachelor of Science in
Criminology,
j. Graduate of a Criminal Investigation Course offered by the Philippine National Police or the
National Bureau of Investigation or any police training school or a detective training in any
authorized/recognized training center.
k. Advance ROTC/CMT graduate or its equivalent

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION

A background investigation generally involves determining whether an applicant


may be unqualified for a position due to a record of criminal conviction, motor vehicle
violations, poor credit history, or misrepresentation regarding education or work history.

issuer.
