In Semester Two, Grade 8 students have learned about "Definisi, Contoh dan Aplikasi Perundang-Undangan di
Indonesia. In this unit, the students learned the definition, examples, and implementation of government-made
laws in Indonesia. The students will also learn to identify the examples and purposes of Undang-Undang in
Indonesian society. Lastly, the students will develop their understanding that Undang-Undang is made to protect
society by showing respect and tolerance and working cooperatively to pursue goals for the world's benefit. The
students will demonstrate their understanding by participating in various activities such as class discussions,
group projects, and quizzes as formative and summative assessments.

Grade 8 Vocal Music aligns with the Cambridge Lower Secondary music objectives: Making Music and Making
Sense of Music. Students create simple melodies that they are going to harmonize and eventually lead to the
simple arrangement at the end of the semester. The use of Garageband for music technology and MuseScore for
music notation are major learning activities done in class. Students continue to apply various musical elements
such as dynamics, rhythm, context, structure, melody, instrumentation, texture, and harmony in their singing and
attentive listening of various styles and genres. Students continue to sing songs in three to four-part harmony.
Student learning is assessed through class presentations, written assessments, and the submission of individual

will enable learners to explore the limitless possibilities that exist both in art and in their own creativity, as
image bearers of Christ.
Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in
advance for us to do. This verse is our foundation to share our gift and our art with everyone and for the world.
As art and design is a wide-ranging discipline that brings together skills and intellectual thought processes from
across the curriculum, learners will also become experimental, reflective, critical and decisive thinkers who are
able to express themselves within a range of open themes. They will understand the benefits of concentration,
perseverance and collaboration, as well as developing the fine motor skills that are generally associated with
producing art. The enjoyable and collaborative nature of art and design will also provide them with many

Description
In semester 1, the students have learned about News Item Text, Advertisement, Persuasive Text, and Exposition
Text by exploring the texts' features and language structures. In this class, the students also have practiced
expressing ideas clearly and effectively both in writing and speaking. The students also have learned about
poems. As they study the intrinsic elements and the language features, the students have shown appreciation for
Indonesian literature by reading poems, listening to poems read by the teacher and peers, also writing a poem
based on a particular topic. By exploring several text types, the students have learned that each type has different
purposes, and the authors use different ways to express their thoughts through their works. This semester, the
students have learned that God uses various ways to communicate with his people. The students have reflected on
how people ask for God's wisdom to communicate effectively and purposefully with one another in a loving
manner.

In Semester 2, students learn about hobbies and school subjects. The objectives are to encourage students to
understand different sports and activities, describe their hobbies, acknowledge the types of school subjects, and
express their favorite subjects while demonstrating their capacity as effective communicators. Every good thing
we enjoy in life is a gift from God (James 1:17), including our school and hobbies. Whether sports, music,
fishing, reading, etc., God wants us to enjoy what He has made. However, we must also be reminded that we do
not idolize our studies and hobbies but direct them to glorify God. The teacher evaluates the students' oral and
comprehensive skills using a variety of activities.
