ABOUT BERKELEY EXECUTIVE EDUCATION ....... 17

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
In an increasingly volatile environment, where business models are continually changing across
industries, the CEO’s role is also evolving. The Berkeley Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Program
has been designed to equip business leaders with the skill sets required to successfully navigate
this era of uncertainty and transformation.

BECOME A GLOBAL LEADER

Fast-paced disruptions that change the way companies do business can take any form. The global
crisis presented by the COVID-19 pandemic is just one example. Other factors like shifting
geopolitics, market volatility, digital disruptions, and societal changes can present challenges at any
time. The Berkeley CEO Program has been designed to transform senior professionals into leaders
who possess the foresight, agility, and tenacity to lead a global organization. You will enhance your
ability to lead growth strategies, seize new opportunities, and gain a competitive advantage. The
program will broaden your global perspective and equip you with the latest research and best
practices in leadership, culture, and innovation. You will emerge from the program prepared to lead
with a greater purpose, inspire performance, and foster an organizational culture of diversity, equity,
and inclusion (DEI). Above all, you will develop the vision and the drive required to lead a global
organization in the 21st century.

LEARN FROM SILICON VALLEY

ENTERPRISES
This program takes full advantage of Berkeley’s
proximity to Silicon Valley and its cutting-edge
innovators and industry disruptors. The unique
ecosystem of the Bay Area and Silicon Valley is an
unparalleled learning lab unlike anywhere in the
world. The area is home to more than 2,000 tech
companies that have significantly transformed the
way the world does business. You will have access
to leading experts who are working at the
intersection of technology, innovation, and
business. You will attend guest lectures and/or
panel discussions, with these thought leaders,
and gain valuable insights on leading
transformation — whether it’s through
technology, innovation, or organizational culture.

1
RECEIVE 360° COACHING AND
FEEDBACK
Your learning journey will be further enhanced
by coaching sessions that will support you
through the program. At Berkeley, executive
coaching takes a two-pronged approach. You
will be assigned a professional coach who will
help you identify your leadership strengths
and challenges. Through a combination of
one-on-one and small group sessions, you will
work together with the coach to carry out an
in-depth self-assessment, identify areas to
work on, and come up with a customized
roadmap for achieving your leadership goals.
Coaching also takes the form of peer
learning. Through the program, you will
interact and work with accomplished peers
from around the world who bring a diverse
range of experiences, perspectives, and
cultures to the table. You will share your goals
and challenges with each other and benefit
from a truly global cohort.

DEVELOP A PERSONAL CASE

Over the course of the program, you will work on addressing a leadership challenge or opportunity
that is unique to you. Identify a specific area you want to address and outline specific goals. Then,
combine program learnings from faculty and guest speakers, insights from peers, and feedback
from your coach to execute a plan towards those goals. In addition, you will develop a personal
case in order to codify your learnings and inform future leadership efforts.
