Hello….
I'm from North Maluku, to be precise, I live on Central Halmahera
Island, but I joined my parents in migrating to East Halmahera Island.
My family and I always go home during the month of Ramadan and
after Eid al-Fitr, our extended family vacations on Sayafi Island and we
have to cross the ocean by boat. The journey we traveled for
approximately 2 hours was right in the middle of the sea, strong waves
almost sank our boat and the waves also entered our boat. Luckily we
reached our destination safely. But my fear was paid off by the view on
Sayafi Island which was so beautiful, I could see stingrays swimming
next to our boat and our family divided the tasks, some of them were
catching fish and riding young coconuts. After eating, we rested or
bathed in the waves and we often stung by jellyfish, at night we made a
campfire and roasted corn on the beach while playing guitar and singing
together with the bright moonlight and beautiful stars, it was the most
beautiful experience with the extended family
