A. OPENING

1. Welcome

 All present were welcomed.


 Time was given for members to review previous minutes.

2. Safety Brief

 Mulalo Lithole (WCS Safety Officer) –Communicated that


silly season safety topics will be sent out for employees
to discuss.
 Campaign is focused on teams and what is currently
happening.
 Fetsi Mokubing (Safety Manager)-Reminded committee
members of vaccination roll out.
 Sibanye is still providing it for free at Bleskop and
Andrew Saffy.

3. Apologies

 All apologies were noted.


 Bheki Hlatshwayo (EE Chairperson) –Resigned from committee
by sending e-mail to secretary.

5. Minutes of the Previous Meeting

Minutes of previous meeting were read and discussed.

6. Matters Arising

6.1 Leave Days- Everything is coverd


6.2 UIF-Spread sheet was send by HR and we are still waiting
for response from UIF.

7. Management Issues

7.1 Annual Employment Equity Report:

 No changes on presentation numbers done before..


 Communication has been received concerning
compliance order.
 Our matter was taken to court then the department took a
stance not to continue with court process as our
company has met target.
 Our current report will be received and responded to.
 We are under DG Review due to a few non-compliances.
 We must make sure we meet our targets.

7.2 Recruitment Plans:

 Hiring people with disabilities is an urgent matter which


must be considered should a position be available.
 WCS needs to focus on hiring females as Plant
Operators.
 Future positions at WCS should be reserved for females
not to be concentrated at Quality Control.
 CTR- Electrician position available. (5x People

available. (3x Promotions)
 Bleskop- No positions available.

7.3 Skills Development:

 There has been an increase of applications from CR.


 HR Manager encourages other employees to apply as
well.
 Engineering Learnerships will be advertised

8. ISSUES

8.1 - A separate EE Report Meeting will be held prior to our next


meeting
-Two employee representatives will be needed.

8.2 –William Sithole (WCS) trained as a Boilermaker Aide two


years ago but has not yet been appointed to do the work.
-Currently there is no vacancy for him but management will
look into the matter and ivstigate.
