1. What are four key types of drawings found in a set of house plans.

a) Identify if the plan is 2D, 3D, Perspective, Isometric or Section.


b) Describe the feature and purpose of the drawing and note any
standards/abbreviations and why they are used.
Design sketches- These are the interpretation of the client's requirements into a 2-D
sketch in perspective.

Presentation drawings- 3-D/ Isometric drawings for formal presentation to the client
approval

Planning approval drawings – This is the 3rd stage drawing with exact size & shape of
the structure for planning purposes of the authorities. It is normally orthographic where
section plan can be added if necessary.

Building approval drawings- Section drawing is important since it is the final stage of
the drawing which will be used not just the authorities but also the trades people.

2. Use the AS1100 to research the requirements for and provide an example of using
each of the following drawing conventions:

6. Choose the relevant HIA Plan Pack for your area or construction type – Brick veneer,
Single Skin Masonry or Cavity Masonry.

a) Highlight and annotate each of the key sketching and drawing features of the floor
plan. The features are the things that make it different from all the other drawings for
that building.

• The dimensions of the house is interesting it is east facing with road and has garage
connected with concrete driveway with the road. Formal lounge, Master bed+ ens
and the bed 2 is connected with the east wall.

• Single skin masonary is used for main load bearing- to perform as both the structure
and the wall. Brick vaneer is used with cavity masonry for external aesthetic purposes.

• Minimum 2ompa concrete was used.

• Stairs width minimum 240mm & Hight 190mm
