Quick start

1. Get started – First set-up only

Check your email for a message from do-not-reply@shell.com, with


the subject line “Shell LubeAnalyst email validation”. Click the “Validate
your email by clicking here” yellow button in the email to begin.

Shell LubeAnalyst uses Akamai’s Janrain identity provider for security. The sign-up process will
take you through different steps, depending on whether your email account is already set up
to use Janrain services in the cloud. After clicking “Validate your email by clicking here”, simply
follow the on-screen instructions.
If you encounter any issues, please contact your Shell Account Manager for support.

2. Dashboard
When you successfully log in to the new system, you will see the main Dashboard screen.

3. View vessels/components/equipment
n The Vessel, Equipment and Component screens are useful for quickly navigating to any equipment or component. Initially, all your
vessels will be under the Equipment tab.
n You can use the Search feature under the Equipment menu to search for any vessel, equipment item or component.
n Before you can send a sample for analysis, you need to ensure that you have registered (1) the relevant equipment and (2) the
component from which the sample is taken on Shell LubeAnalyst. To register a new vessel, equipment item or component, contact
your Shell Marine technical representative.

4. Register and send sample


There are three ways to pre-register samples in the new Shell LubeAnalyst system:
a. with sample kit labels
b. print labels online
c. via the Shell LubeAnalyst app.
Pre-registering your samples is the easiest way to ensure the most accurate analysis of your samples and to speed up the analysis
process through the laboratory. We will explain each option below.

a. With sample kit labels


You can continue to fill in the sample labels supplied in the sample kits, but please ensure that you do so correctly following these step-
by-step instructions:
i. Navigate to the Sampling screen on the Menu bar > Send samples.
ii. Navigate to the Send samples screen by using Sample registration via Go to... on the Manage equipment and components
screens.
iii. After completing all the mandatory fields, click on the “I have labels” tab then click on the Register button to register your sample in
the system. Affix the sample number sticker to the bottle and send it off to the appropriate laboratory selected from the laboratory
network map on page 3 of the label book.
iv. You can track the progress of new samples and view historic samples using Track samples on the second-level menu.
Not completing the mandatory highlighted sections on the sample labels may result in your sample being rejected or incorrectly diagnosed.
Please refer to the leaflet inside the refill kit for more information on how to complete all the required sections.

b. Print labels online

Shell LubeAnalyst has an exciting new feature that enables fast and simple pre-registration and label printing, which reduces
the likelihood of errors and improves the efficiency of the end-to-end service. You can access this additional option from the
portal main page.

Navigate to the Sampling screen on the Menu bar > Send Samples 2. Navigate to the Send samples screen by using Sample
registration screens. Click the “Print sample labels” tab.

c. Via the Shell LubeAnalyst app

1. The current version of the Shell LubeAnalyst app requires an active Internet connection to function.
2. The Shell LubeAnalyst app will only be able to scan the new version of Shell LubeAnalyst labels with a QR code. If you have the
old RLA labels with barcode, you will need to enter the sample number manually.

The sign-in details are the same as on the Shell LubeAnalyst web portal. For your first sign-in only, you
need to register your account on the web portal before accessing the mobile app.
