Researchers have discovered that beer was

produced approximately seven thousand years ago

by the ancient Egyptians, who used it in religious
celebrations.
These first societies left documented traces of the
existence of drugs.
The origins of the drug are diverse and worth
studying.

It is believed that when honey was stored and

reached the point of fermentation, the first wines
were produced. Meanwhile, tobacco was already
smoked by various pre-Columbian cultures for
spiritual ceremonies before the conquerors arrived.
The history of illicit drugs
The United Nations estimates the size of the drug
trafficking market to be more than $321 billion
today, but this is not a new problem. The history of
illicit drugs is extensive.
For example, there are records that opium, which is
the juice of a type of poppy, has been known for
three thousand years before Christ for its
psychotropic functions.
Opium was used as food or oil and its popularity
spread from the Middle East to India. It is estimated
that in the 4th century it reached China, while in
Western Europe it was introduced for therapeutic
purposes.
By the 19th century, opium became a health
problem due to its high intake for leisure.
The history of drugs indicates that it was in 1874
when the first semi-synthetic opiate, heroin, was
created. Its high degree of addiction spread from the
United States and England to the rest of the world.
Heroin was produced for the first time in 1874. This
drug produces a great feeling of euphoria and
energy; but at the same time it generates dizziness
and mental disabilities.
