Software
Software is a set of instructions, data, or programs used to operate computers and execute
specific tasks.
Types of Software
 System Software
 Application Software
System Software
It is the category of software used to operate and maintain a computer system including the
operating system, utility programs, and program language translator.
Application Software
It is the category of software that performs end-user tasks.

Engagement:
The lesson will begin with a class discussion on what students think software is. They will
then be asked about the software they use daily (e.g., apps, games, social media).
Exploration:
After which, a short video will be shown to highlight what software is, the role of software,
and the types of software.

Students will be encouraged to listen attentively as they will be required to answer
questions based on the video presentation.
Explanation:
Students will then be engaged in a question-and-answer session to reinforce key concepts
from the video presentation. Students will be encouraged to ask questions and the teacher
will clarify any doubts they may have.
Elaboration:
Students will be asked to write a short reflection on what they learned about software
during the lesson and how they might use this knowledge in the future.
Evaluation:
Based on the information given, students will be instructed to close their books and will be
engaged in a question-and-answer session.
