- Examine the claim that economically powerful states are able to manipulate global
governance institutions to their advantage

Economically strong states are those that have a diverse economy, have economic growth,
and have high GDP per capita, productivity, and revenue. They do not depend entirely on
one resource for trade.

Global governance is the process through which nations organize themselves, reach
agreements, and address common problems above the level of the individual country.

Economically strong governments frequently strive to avoid obligations, such as adhering


to regulations established by global governmental institutions, or to gain an advantage over
other nations in relation to choices made by such organizations.
