Essential Components and Functions Ensuring Safe and Efficient School

Exits:
There will be two devices with the student and his driver. These two
devices will communicate and exchange notifications through which time
and effort will be saved during the process of safe and quick passage for
students leaving schools.

Challenges Faced in Project Implementation:

• The Bluetooth unit failed to pair with each other after working
during testing, so troubleshooting is required.
• Discovering that using the DC Coreless Vibrating Motor
component may harm the Arduino, prompting the need to
switch to the more suitable Vibration Motor Module for
vibration notifications in the project.

The device in the student’s possession

• Overview of Student's Device Components and Functionality:

There are two buttons, an Arduino (Nano) controller, four LEDs, and
Bluetooth. When button A is pressed, it performs a reset or turns off
the notification, whether it's LED flashing or vibration. However, when
button B is pressed, it sends a vibration notification to the Parent’s
device to remind them in case they have arrived at the area when they
forget to notify the student of their presence at the designated waiting
station. It also consists of resistors to protect some elements from high
voltage/current that leads to damage to some elements. Additionally,
it includes female-to-female Breadboard Jumper and male-to-male
Breadboard Jumper wires, which connect the breadboard to the
Arduino. Moreover, it includes a Cable for Arduino (Nano). USB Type:
Mini-B cable. This cable allows the Arduino Nano to be programmed by
the computer. The Arduino has a power port, which we will connect to
batteries compatible with the Arduino Nano.

The device in the Parent’s possession

• Overview of Parent’s Device Components and Functionality:

The Parent’s device consists of 6 buttons, with 4 specialized buttons for
sending commands that will light up the colors of the LEDs on the
student's device. Additionally, there is a button to reset or turn off the
notification sent from the student's device, which is a vibration, and the
last button is for sending vibration only to the student's device. It also
consists of an Arduino (Uno) and resistors to protect some elements from
high voltage/current that leads to damage to some elements.
Furthermore, it includes female-to-female Breadboard Jumper and male-
to-male Breadboard Jumper wires, which connect the Breadboard to the
Arduino. Moreover, it includes a Cable for Arduino (UNO). USB Type:
Type-A to Type-B. This cable allows the Arduino Uno to be programmed
by the computer. The Arduino has a power port which we will connect to
batteries compatible with the Arduino Uno.
