Notes:
1. An interim mark will be determined for all first year students to identify their academic progress. This mark will
be based on the results of the first test and the in process grade up to the mid-term date.
2. Plant Guidelines for Technical Management of Chemical Process Safety; Center for Chemical Process Safety
(CCPS) of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers; ISBN-13 : 978-0816904990
Absenteeism Policies
1. a) To reflect established practice in the workplace and demonstrate responsibility, students unable to be in
attendance for an evaluation, are required to contact their professor within 24 hours of the scheduled evaluation time.
Failure to communicate your absence to the instructor will result in a mark of zero.
Students may be required to provide evidence that is reasonable with respect to the circumstances related to the
missed evaluation.
b) Evaluations that occur in class cannot be made up or supplemented. Any missed in-class assignments will be
assigned a mark of "0".
c) Students are responsible for all material provided during class time including but not limited to announced deadlines,
test dates and instruction, whether they are in attendance or not.
4. Course outlines should be retained for future needs (i.e. university credits, transfer of credits etc.)
Students will be notified in writing of changes that involve the addition or deletion of learning outcomes or
evaluations, prior to changes being implemented, as specified in the Course Outline Policy and Procedure at
