What are emotions?

Emotions are not hard wired. They don’t triggered and happen to you. No brain contain emotion circuit.

Emotions are guesses that brain construct when millions of neurons work together at the moment of experience.

There are two type of confrontation for mind.

When it confronts something for the first time, brain start searching past experience by making thousands of guesses at
the same time to make a meaning out of incoming data. Brain wants to know what it is most like, NOT what it really is. It
is called EXPERIENTIAL BLINDNESS.

When it confronts something for the second time, brain refers to a past knowledge and find some data that matches the
gaps and can get a meaning out of this new situation. It is called PREDICTIONS.

Brain does not react to the world but predict and reconstruct our experience of the world using past experience.

Emotions that you seem to detect in other people are partly inside your own head.

Based on intensity of past experience everybody’s brain can produce different emotions. For example, a simple test
anxiety vs. crippling anxiety which has come from a past experience and has so intense impact such as hammering heart
beat and sweaty hands that hold person back from taking the test.
