SOLAR AND LUNAR ECLIPSE

Solar Eclipse

- This happens when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun.

3 Types:

1. Total Solar Eclipse

- When the Moon completely covers the Sun.

2. Partial Solar Eclipse

- The Moon only partially covers the Sun.

3. Annular Solar Eclipse

- The Moon only covers the center of the Sun but could not cover the Ring

of the Sun which happens when the Moon is too far from the Earth.

Lunar Eclipse

- This happens when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon.

3 Types:

1. Total Lunar Eclipse

- Often referred as the “Blood Moon.”

2. Partial Lunar Eclipse

- Only a portion of the Moon passes through the Earth’s umbra.


3. Penumbral Lunar Eclipse

- The Moon passes through the Earth's penumbra, leading to a subtle

shading that is often challenging to observe.

There are many questions regarding whether how solar eclipse and lunar eclipse

affect us and is it safe to look at it?

- It is said that we might experience fear, apprehension, or unease and it is

not safe to look at the solar eclipse because it can harm our eyes but you

can use a specialized eye protection so that you can view it. In a lunar

eclipse, it is safe to look at it without any eye protection.
