VACANCY TITLE: Assistant Credit Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Credit Analysis, Structured Finance & Deal Origination

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the chief executive officer, the Assistant Credit Analyst will be responsible of credit appraisal, credit
underwriting, industry reports and manage clients’ relations with view to ensure quality underwriting portfolio and
business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

❖ Receive, register, and process enquiries from clients, deal origination or structured
Credit Analysis (60%) finance teams; verify if all information has been provided. If not, send an application
form to the client.
❖ Undertake dipstick analysis by spreading financial reports to determine whether it is
a worthy facility to follow-through and generate high level credit report and
indicative transaction report.
❖ Follow up with the client, management and team members until a pricing structure
is found that meets the expectations of the parties involved.
❖ Undertake in-depth buyer analysis by analyzing the industry, financial position, and
client’s financial ratio etc.
❖ Prepare Underwriting Report, present and defend the report to the Credit
Committee.
❖ After approval, prepare the policy wording and liaise with the client to negotiate and
agree on the policy terms.
❖ Keeping up-to-date knowledge of key issues in credit analysis and insurance sector
(for example legal, market risk and compliance issues)
❖ Enhance quality of credit analysis and make recommendations about
procedural/policy changes.

Portfolio Management ❖ Turnover declarations: send reminders to the clients to forward quarterly
(20%) statement to be used in reconciliations.
❖ Ensure the clients’ accounts are debited in time and timely payments of premiums.
❖ Ensure timely generation of in-depth credit reports and client updates.

Relationship ❖ Manages good business relationship with existing or new clients.


Management (20%)
❖ Ability to granulate information specific to client requirements in line with the
industry, transaction, and market conditions.
❖ Understand customer needs and respond to their inquiries on regular basis.
❖ Attend meeting with clients and hold in depth discussions and prepare
comprehensive meeting reports.
❖ Makes necessary initiatives to generate an interest in specialist finance products
and inquiries that can lead to commercial proposal and future business.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

⧫ Education:
A masters or bachelor’s Degree in Banking and Finance, Insurance, Economics, Business Administration or
related area and Professional qualifications in insurance such as CII, CPAK or CFA is an added advantage.

⧫ Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in analytical or portfolio management in the finance industry.
Candidates with similar experience in related industries that include academic research , brokerage , trade finance,
mathematics and or STEM are welcomed to apply.

⧫ Competencies

1.Deep knowledge of finance and credit analysis impacting finance industry including working with IFRS and Basel
regulations. Strong credit background, with technical competence and analytical ability in the finance sector.
2.Teamwork skills and ability to work with a diverse team of professional, clients, partners, and stakeholders in our
markets.
3.Great communicator with detailed oratory, written and presentation skills.
4.Organizational awareness and differential ability to gain awareness across SME as well as complex organizational
structure and products.
5.Analytical. Able to undertake complex analysis and provide evidence-based decision-making reports.
