About Company: Northern Arc Capital Ltd is a Non-banking finance company with an
objective to provide efficient and reliable access to debt capital for the institutions that impact
financially excluded households and enterprises. It is engaged in providing diversified
financing options, particularly from the debt capital markets to institutions ("Originators")
that provide microfinance, SME finance, affordable housing finance, vehicle finance,
agricultural finance etc. Some of the products offered by the Company to such Originators are
loans, working capital, securitization, non-convertible debentures, commercial paper,
redeemable preference shares, guarantee backed structures etc. Northern Arc's strategy
involves identification of high growth Originators with strong corporate governance, incentive
alignment through subordinate investment, innovative structured finance products and
robust risk monitoring through proprietary analytics models and on-the-field presence. We
currently work with over 110 Originator partners and over 100 investors and have impacted
more than 25 million borrowers across 530 plus districts in 30 states and Union Territories.

Job Profile:
1. Associate Treasury –
(a) Job Objective - Position is for Associate / Sr. Associate - Treasury in Financial Data
Maintenance, Relationship Management & Modelling.
(b) Responsibilities –
 Support fund raising for the company through debt & structured finance products
 Attending to banks/ lenders queries and information requirements
 Maintaining financial and other relevant data of the company
 Preparation of Cash flows, ratios and Business plan for lenders
 Coordination with internal teams for lender due diligence
 Presentations to senior management
 Understanding of structured financial products
 Strong knowledge of various MS Office products like word, excel & power point
 Knowledge of financial modeling
 In depth understanding of financial statements, ratio analysis
 Excellent communication and relationship management skills
 Should be able to deal and communicate with lenders like Banks, NBFCs, Mutual
Funds etc
 Interest in financial inclusion/ impact finance and the opportunities that this space
represents

2. Associate Origination –
(a) Job Objective & Responsibilities –
 Identify high quality NBFCs and financial services companies to on-board as
Northern Arc Capital clients
 Manage the company’s balance sheet loan/investment exposures on the clients,
running debt raising mandates.
 Assist the clients in strategically managing their asset and liability side of the
balance sheets by offering suitable debt and structured finance products.
 Develop a strong understanding of the sectors and entities that the firm represents,
through field visits, data analysis and interactions with various stakeholders such
as Originators, Investors, Regulators, Rating agencies, Internal teams.
 Interact with the Originators’ management on a day-to-day basis to proactively
identify potential. business opportunities
 Ability to understand Originator’s requirements/market feedback and communicate
to the Structured Finance and Capital Markets team towards new structures and
client requirements.
 Negotiate terms, pricing, documentation on transactions with investors.
 Manage end to end from deal origination to transaction execution on Northern Arc’s
technology platform
 Provide inputs for transaction structuring and identifying new asset classes.
 Develop a sound understanding of the products that Northern Arc Capital has
developed, including regulations, tax, excel modelling and documentation
 Networking within the industry and representing Northern Arc Capital in public
forums (conferences and seminars)
 Create visibility for Northern Arc Capital amongst potential clients/ sectors

(b) Skills Required –

 Self-starter with the ability to own the role and develop high quality coverage.
 Excellent oral and written communication skills
 Strong analytical skills. Good understanding of structured products
 Working knowledge of MS-Office and other technology tools

Arc’s underlying clients as well as other stakeholders by providing sound and
informed opinion on funding & asset strategy and operations of the underlying
partners

(3) Associate Credit Risk & Monitoring –


(a) Job Objective –
Risk Management at Northern Arc (formerly IFMR Capital) combines extensive
analysis & field coverage of our partner entities with in-house risk analytics and
modelling using more than 6 million data points for proactive risk management
(b) Job Description –
 Pre & Post-investment: Periodic credit analysis & risk monitoring of partner
companies (NBFC-Vehicle Finance, Consumer Finance NBFCs), reporting on early
warning signals or signs of deterioration in credit risk, quality of operations,
management, financial position, governance etc.
 Visiting partners and working with their top management and functional team to
understand business models and identify potential risk areas. These risks may be
in corporate governance, quality of operations, human resources, MIS,
underwriting, security creation, operations, collections, monitoring and control
systems or financial health of the entity. In case of risks identified, make
recommendations on possible measures to mitigate / avoid such risks through
process changes etc. and monitor progress.
 Performing periodic credit analysis for client onboarding approvals, Limit
enhancements, setting covenants on Term-sheets across products like off-balance
sheet exposure, Co-lending credit policy etc.
 Adding to the body of understanding of asset classes in which Northern Arc is
working with a focus on Vehicle finance and Consumer Finance, by participating in
due diligences with Business origination team, participating in credit committee
meetings, research, blogs or any secondary study.
 Monitoring sector level risks and recommending necessary course of action at an
entity, geography and sector level as well as engaging with other stake holders such
as the NBFC, MFIs, other investors, credit bureaus, MFIN etc. to drive consensus
around prudent business and risk management practices in the sector
 Engage closely with other teams in the risk function such as risk analytics and risk
modelling to for macro issues relating to understanding of sector risk as well as
micro issues relating to client reporting for structured finance transactions, overdue
analysis etc. and analysis of data repositories such as transaction data and credit
bureau data.

(c) Skills Required –

 Financial analysis skills to analyze partner entities in NBFC Space


 Detail-oriented, good prioritization skills, pro-active and, goal-oriented;
 Ability to provide clear, succinct and timely reporting and risk analysis;
 Ability to multi-task and deliver qualitative outputs consistently at short deadlines
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
 Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word);
 Knowledge of some vernacular languages would be a positive

(4) Associate Risk Analytics & Modelling –


(a) Job Objective –
As a member of analytics team that measures and manages portfolio of debt and
structured finance investments, to be responsible for designing, building, and
executing different analytical models directly impacting key business decisions

(b) Job Description –


 Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of both structured and
unstructured data to help generate insights for organization success.
 Develop scalable and efficient framework for large scale data analyses, model
development, model validation and model implementation.
 Manage, analyze, and report key performance metrics through manual and
automated data collection methods.
 Design, develop and maintain scalable and reliable analytical tools, dashboards and
metrices that drive key business decisions.
 Contribute to several on-going risk analytics and modelling processes and new
initiatives.
 Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of various performance metrics for
Northern Arc’s portfolio
 Analyze the financial and portfolio performance of Northern Arc’s partners
 Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and manage their expectations and
requirements

(c) Skills Required –

 Mandatory technical skills – R/Python, visualization packages in R/Python and MS


Excel
 Experience in quantitative modeling is a must
 Experience in analytics of lending portfolios is a must
 Experience in SQL language will be an advantage.
 Experience in visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI will be an advantage.
 Excellent communication and presentation skills
 Ability to work under pressure, to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet
deadlines.

(5) Associate Structured Finance & Products –


(a) Job Objective –
To be primarily responsible for modelling structured finance products and front-
ending deal execution
(b) Job Description –
 Financial modelling for structured debt products
 Executing plain vanilla and structured finance transactions;
 Preparing legal documentation and offer documents for capital market issuances
 Preparing investment proposals
 Assisting in new product development
 Extensively using MS Excel and other financial modelling tools to support the
Structuring team in analysis.
 Handling post transaction requirements - product compliance and to maintain the
comprehensive compliance database

(6) Associate Mid-Market credit – (insert function and team overview here?)
(a) Job Objective –
 To review and to provide the independent view on the quarterly financial,
operational and portfolio performance of Northern Arc Capital partners across
sectors, prepare credit notes, and provide recommendation to assist in taking
further credit exposure on the Northern Arc Capital's partners.
 To develop a thorough understanding of the underlying sectors by assessing credit,
regulatory and macro-economic risks.
 To visit clients to assess the ground level credit risks and identify early warning
signals

(b) Job Description –


 To complete the quarterly review of the given clients in the portfolio as per the
timelines.
 To perform sector benchmarking and detailed analysis of the operational drivers
in the sectors and provide insights from the same.
 To ensure liaising between business and other internal teams to ensure timely
execution of transactions
 To visit clients to assess the ground level operational risks.
 To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the wider policy, regulatory
environment and recent developments in the sector

(c) Skills Required –


 Strong analytical bent of mind. Ability to delve into details is a must
 Adaptable, confident, reliable and highly motivated graduates with strong time
management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
 Ability to multi-task and deliver quantitative as well as qualitative outputs
consistently at short deadlines
 Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English is must. Should be able to
articulate one's views clearly

(7) Associate Mid-Market Risk –


(a) Job Objective –
 Northern Arc Capital is looking for a Senior Associate to join its Risk Monitoring
team.
 Primary responsibility will be towards credit risk and monitoring in the Mid-Market
segment.
(b) Job Description –

 Pre- Investment: Due diligence on Business Model and Operations, Financial and
Governance Aspects
 Post-investment: Periodic credit analysis & risk monitoring of partner companies in
Mid- Market segment – Emerging Corporates reporting on Early warning signals or
signs of deterioration in Credit risk.
 Visiting partners and interacting with their top management and functional team to
understand business models and identify potential risk areas. In case of risks
identified, make recommendations on possible measures to mitigate risks through
incremental and monitor progress.
 Performing periodic credit analysis for client onboarding approvals, limit
enhancements, setting covenants on Term-sheets across products.
 Adding to the body of understanding of asset classes in which Northern Arc is
working with a focus on identified sectors, by participating in due diligences with
Business origination team, participating in credit committee meetings, research,
blogs or any secondary study.
 Monitoring sector level risks and recommending necessary course of action at an
entity and sector level as well as engaging with other stake holders such as the
investors, credit bureaus, etc.

(c) Skills Required –

(8) Associate HR –
(a) Job Objective –
 We’re looking for an enterprising resource to work with our HR-Operations team.
This is a full-time position responsible for smoothly managing the employee life
cycle and maintaining of employee data and documents relating to Payroll, Benefits,
Audit and HR Compliance.

(b) Job Description –


 Acquiring a thorough understanding of the organization hierarchy, jobs,
qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to
those factors.
 Handling confidential information in a mature and professional manner.
 Take ownership of onboarding formalities like collecting and validating joining
formality documents. Working with background verification and pre-employment
medical check-up vendors and document reports.
 Driving employee experience through timely issuance of accurate appointment
letters, offer letters, relieving letters and timely closure of any queries with regards
to leaves Insurance compensation HR policies etc.
 Extending support in monthly HR Compliance activities involving management of
EPF, Insurance, Taxes and other activities like contract resources management,
attendance tracking, vendor payments, etc.
 Documenting all HR processes in alignment with the audit requirements and
maintain databases to provide the same on a timely basis to the relevant stake
holders.
 Responding to management and employee inquiries regarding policies, process and
employee benefits.
 Conduct HR trend analysis and reporting metrics to drive continuous operational
improvement.
(c) Skills Required –
 Accuracy and speed of service delivery in all areas of the specialised function.
