WHAT IS TRADITIONAL
ASSESSMENT

Traditional Assessment method


are the test quizzes and written
assignments that most of us are pretty
familiar with. They’re designed to
measure student knowledge, skills,
and abilities in a structured
environment

EXAMPLE OF TRADITIONAL
ASSESSMENT
Quizzes:
-a short assessment that typically consist
of a few questions to gauge a student’s
understanding of a specific topic or
concept.
for example:
A teacher may give a quiz on vocabulary
words or math problems to check for
comprehension.

Reports:
- An in depth written document that
present findings or information on a
particular topic.
for example:
Students may be asked to research and
write a report on a historical events or specific
phenomenon to demonstrate their research
and writing skills.

Essay:
- a formal piece of writing that present
an argument analysis or interpretation of a
topic.
for example:
Student may be assigned an essay to
discuss a literary work, historical events, or
specific theory to showcase their critical
thinking and writing skills.

Multiple Choice Questions:


-a type of assessment for student are given a
question along with a list of possible answer
and they must choose the correct response.
for example:
A teacher may administer a multiple choice
quiz on a chapter in a text box to assist
student’s knowledge and understanding of the
materials.

Oral Exam:
- a practice in many schools and disciplines
in which an examiner poses questions to the
student in spoken form.
Written Assignment:
- are open-ended assignments that help you
assess student understanding of the audio
content and give students an opportunity to
demonstrate their writing skills.

Standardize:
- the same test is given to all students.
Summative:
- aimed at evaluating learning outcomes.
Objective:
- grading is often automated or follows a strict
rubric.
Time Bound:
- usually conducted within a set time frame.
