The concept of Global North and Global South is used to describe a grouping of countries along

socio-economic and political characteristics. The Global South is a term often used to identify regions
within Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. It is one of a family of terms, including "Third World"
and "Periphery", that denote regions outside Europe and North America, most of these countries are
low-income and often politically or culturally marginalized on one side of the divide the other side
being the countries of the Global North. As such, the term does not inherently refer to a
geographical south, for example, most of the Global South is geographically within the Northern
Hemisphere and similarly potentially "valuing" terms like developing countries of the Global South
have been described as newly industrialized or in the process of industrializing, and are frequently
current or former subjects of colonialism.

It is also important that we know the different parts of the global. I understand that here in this
book, that they explained the difference of each part of the country. And also explained that the
global world has two parts, which is global south and global north. And it is also said that countries in
the global south are poor and countries in the global north are rich. It's also not good that they are
stereotyping countries, because these countries should be focused especially the politics in these
countries. In each country, globalization also has an important part in the world. Because of this,
poor countries can be helped, especially in the global south.

Philippines was colonized by spain, and that is also decolonization now in the modern world. But for
me, the Philippines was not totally decolonized by Spain. It may be considered neo-colonialism, they
don't even control us anymore but the Philippines adopted the Spanish language that people still use
today. The philippines is also one of the third world, because of colonization these countries
continue to oppress, and the philippines is one of them. And third worldism continues to be adopted
especially in countries that want to cling to the global north through globalization, which can be a
way to rise and help these countries.
