1. Separately Excited DC motor was connected as shown in Iigure1
2. Starting rheostat was kept at maximum position, Iield rheostat was

kept at minimum position and voltage control rheostat at minimum


voltage position
3. Motor was started and Iield current was set to rated value.
4. First the variation oI speed with terminal voltage was observed.
5. Then the terminal voltage was kept at a Iixed value and the variation
oI speed was observed by decreasing the Iield.
