I love going ice skating outdoors at famous locations when I’m on a winter holiday.
It’s a great way to exercise and go sightseeing at the same time. Right now, I’m at
Ice Dream in Vienna. There is a large area for ice skating in front of the beautiful
City Hall and there are ice routes through a small park. Hundreds of thousands of
people go ice skating here every year! It’s open from 10 am to 10 pm from January
to March and a ticket is good for four hours. I’m putting on my skates right now!
Where do you go ice skating?
Liam
I live in London next to the ice skating rink at Somerset House. It’s a beautiful place
to skate outdoors from November to January. Tickets cost from £10 for adults and
£7.50 for children 12 and under. Each session is 45 minutes. Check online for
special events because on some nights, they have a party on the ice!
Mark
My favourite place to go ice skating is in Budapest. Every winter, the lake in
Budapest’s City Park becomes the largest outdoor place to go ice skating in
Europe. Children and adults can join a group for ice-skating lessons. Check
the opening times on the website because it opens in the morning, closes for the
afternoon, and then opens again in the evening. It’s next to Vajdahunyad Castle,
so I recommend exploring the castle in the afternoon.
