QI. Answer the following questions.

1. Why do we see people eating different foods at stations in different states of India?
Ans. The food eaten in each state of India is different. So, at stations in different states,
we will see people eating the food of that state.

2. Write one similarity and one difference between water transport and air transport.
Ans. Similarity: Both water transport and air transport help in transporting people and
goods from one place to another.
Difference: Water transport is slower and cheaper as compared to air transport.

3. Raj wants to travel from Chennai to the Lakshadweep Islands and Gopika wants to
travel from Chennai to Mumbai. In which of these situations can a train be used to travel?
Give 1 reason for your answer.
Ans. Gopika can travel by train, but Raj cannot. This is because the Lakshadweep Islands
are in the Arabian Sea, so we cannot use a train to get there.

4. What will happen if the Earth took double the time it takes to complete one rotation?
Ans. A day and night is 24 hours long as the Earth takes 24 hours to complete one
rotation. If the time of rotation doubles and becomes 48 hours, a day on Earth would
be 24 hours long and a night would be 24 hours long. The daytime and night time
would then become much longer.
