MONTHLY PROGRESS REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF MAY-2022

1. Exposure visit programme

Udala sal leaf and honey cluster, Udala, Mayurbhanj, Odisha, successfully
functioning regularly with a business oriented mode. Both SPV (Maa Durgadevi
producer Company Ltd.) and Artisans are fully engaged in the process of Sal leaf
plate production and honey processing activity. All of this happened because of
your insightful timely support and guidance for development of the cluster.
In addition to that, to provide the new innovative ideas and skills to the SPV staff
and Artisans need exposure orientation on successful clusters. By this exposure
visit artisans are able to learn & execute their acquired improved knowledge on
cluster activities. Apart from that SPV members are able to learn the systematic
and scientific process of SPV/FPO management/development.

In this regard successful clusters like Sal leaf & Areca Nut plate cluster at Burpeta
and Trifled Honey processing Cluster at Bhutan Border of Assam were selected.

The entire exposure visit Plan been discussed in the SPV Governing Council and
finalised for exposure visit to the successful cluster - Sal leaf & Areca Nut plate
cluster at Burpeta and Trifled Honey processing Cluster at Bhutan Border of
Assam. As per the recommendation of SPV Governing council participants of the
exposure visit were finalised.

The details plans of the exposure visit will be endorsed in the Working Committee
of Udala sal leaf and honey cluster at the upcoming last week of April 2022 and
approval will be taken up from the Nodal
agency through Technical agency.

Major outcomes of this Exposure visit

 The SPV committee members will be understand better cluster and its
operation (day to day activities maintenance, SPV office functioning, record
keeping etc.)
 To understand the successful organizational structure, the management
practices and involvement of members in planning and implementation.
 Able to gained knowledge on value addition of Sal leaf & Honey.
 Able to explore various improved products of sal leaf & Areca Nut plate and
Honey with, branding, levelling, bottling and packaging etc.
 Able to explore marketing strategies, Market Scope, Co- operative society etc.
 Able to gained knowledge on establishing marketing linkages.

Able to expose on activities of Sal leaf & Areca Nut plate cluster at Burpeta and
Trifled Honey processing Cluster at Bhutan Border of Assam and its various
activities.

2. NITI Ayog Evaluation

During the month of May 2022 A evaluation team visited Udala sal leaf and honey
cluster, Udala, Mayurbhanj, Odisha. Focus group discussions were organised
during the evaluation process focused on effectiveness of SFURTI scheme under
Ministry of MSME. Govt. of India.

3. Modification of automatic plate making machine

Udala sal leaf and honey cluster, Udala, Mayurbhanj, Odisha, successfully
functioning regularly with a business oriented mode. Both SPV (Maa Durgadevi
producer Company Ltd.) and Artisans are fully engaged in the process of Sal leaf
plate production and honey processing activity. All of this happened because of
the insightful timely support and guidance for development of the cluster.

In addition to that, to provide the new innovative ideas and skills to the artisan’s
machine modified with Automatic timer and submerged with two is to one a as per
market survey and need. Apart from that artisans also undergone training on
modified plate die. This will increase the production of machine per hour and
enhance the productivity of artisans.
